I'm not sure they need him to be great immediately. If he is good right now, they could break into the playoffs. I'm not sure he will be offensively, but he can really help them by rebounding and providing solid defense. Aldridge and Roy could be a very good tandem on the offensive end.

Without Oden, the Blazers are basically what they were last year, a team without an imposing force in the blocks. Oden, while not the greatest, gives them a chance against the big centers in the West.

I'm a little skeptical of Oden at this point. He's got the injury history of player in his mid-thirties and hasn't shown flashes of anything great.

It doesn't scream bust at this point, but there's certainly some reasons to whisper it right now.

Rudy Fernandez; breakout player of the year.

There is nobody at the Golden State/Memphis game. NOBODY. The lower bowl can't be more than 10% full.

Cavs are making the Mavericks look old.

That's cause the Mavs are pretty old right now.

The Cavs offense has looked pretty good when it isn't turning the ball over, and it didn't do much of that tonight. But, then, the Mavericks' offense has looked cover-your-eyes awful tonight.
Shame they don't have Devin Harris to inject some life...

Jason Thompson should be in the small pool of contenders to win ROY.

So far he's off to a solid start.

NBA has gone the MLB.TV route with the streaming games.

Long overdue and free preview through the 11th. I'm giving it a whirl.

He'd be a good young guy to take a flier on in a keeper fantasy league.

Unfortunately, once Brad Miller returns from his suspension, I fear Thompson will be riding much more pine.

    Norman,

If you're Sacramento -- not going anywhere, looking to grow -- why would you bench a part of the future for Brad Miller?
