How the hell do you end up a fan of the New York Yankees and Seattle Seahawks, anyway? Front-running baseball fan from Seattle?

    :)

How did I know this would come up?
Here it is in a nutshell.
My grandfather grew up in Eastern Washington prior to the Mariners existing and listened to the Yankees on the radio a lot. So, he became a Yankees fan.
My dad followed suit and was a big-time Yankees fan and even named my brother after Mickey Mantle. We children followed suit as we grew up in northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, rarely making trips to Seattle.
Eventually I moved to Seattle and had the joy of watching a bunch of crappy Yankees and Mariners teams square off in the Kingdome. I have always hated the Mariners, but never moreso than after sitting in the Kingdome when Edgar Martinez hit that goddamn, fucking double and suddenly every goddamn fucker in the greater Seattle area is a Mariners fan. Fuckthatshit.
Anyway, I have always been a Seahawks fan because my family never really cared about the NFL and I started actually paying attention very recently.

    Happy?

Reasonably. Not quite as happy as I was at the end of Super Bowl XL, but I'll take what I can get. :)

Alex Gordon is a solid player all around.
I predict the Royals to fininsh above .500
George Brett said Gordon is a better hitter that he was at Gordon's age.

And Jack Ham said Paul Posluszny is the best linebacker in Penn State history. Sorry, let's let the kids prove something before we elevate them to the level of the Hall of Famers that came before. Even if the Hall of Famers themselves are doing the hyping.

I know. Odd reference. Saw an NFL Network piece on Posluszny today.

Though I think Gordon has the better chance of living up to it.
