15-year-old kid invents algae-powered energy system

Honestly, I feel a little dumber just reading this. Texas high-school kid comes up with a way to use algae to

• turn sewage and trash into methane and bio-oil for fuel,
• produce food for humans and livestock,
• sequester greenhouse gases, and
• produce oxygen.

I'm just going to go bang my head against a wall now.

Pretty cool, though. Good to see that our depence on oil is probably going to be much less in the hopefully near future.

 

Now, if he can use garbage to power the flux capacitor and make a DeLorean travel through time, I'll be really impressed.

 

This just in ... Shell and Texaco had him liquidated.

 

In other words, it probably won't work, but the kid is still impressive.
