    Well, some of it's about compensation.

    The persistence of the mythical Old West quote 'God created man; Sam Colt made them equal' is evidence of that.

    All the accessories I previously mentioned are for people who picture themselves as some sort of Rambo Billy Badass. They don't serve any other useful purpose.

    Every NRA member and hardcore Second Amendment believer stands by that argument: We need everyone to be armed -- and have the freedom to do so -- JUST IN CASE there is ever someone coming in guns blazes.

    I've yet to read any reports of someone gunning down a heavily armed, would-be mass shooter in a public place. Many of these attacks are unexpected. You can't reasonably expect the population to be armed and ready to fight at a moment's notice at all times. They are not soldiers.

    Okay then you can't cite this as reasonable support for unfettered access to all weapons.

    I don't. No one should have 100 percent access to all weapons. I support tighter laws.
