You must not get HBO, then, as Josh Charles is currently appearing in In Treatment.

Which one was supposed to be Dan Patrick and which one was supposed to be Keith Olbermann?

I own the first set of DVDs, but I agree with the people that say it's overrated. I've watched them all several times, but have a hard time making it through now. The plots are contrived, and some of the characters are horribly cast, like Jeremy for instance.

At the start, Natalie is all "Oh, he's SOOO hot!!!" Come on ... I mean, come on ........
I'm a dork. When hot girls gets with dorks, that makes me feel good and I eat it up. But it has to be at least 5% believable. And I'm not even going to bring up when he hooked up with the porn star.

It was just sappy. Too sappy, and the more I watched it, the more than bled through.

But it was a porn star who liked sports.

Dan was probably the closer analogue to Keith, but Casey was allegedly a cross between Dan and Craig Kilborn.

So, you two won't be purchasing the DVDs? :)

The pornstar thing was ridiculous. It was an attempt at over-the-top humor and it just came off as silly.

I never really thought Jeremy and Natalie were unrealistic at all, especially compared to some of the insane pairings of unattractive men and beautiful women you see in television and the movies. And this was one of the few times I didn't mind Sorkin's obsession with casting Josh Molina. It was definitely a better fit than Will Bailey.

Let me narrow my argument: the memory of the show benefited greatly from its early demise.

I wasn't opposed to them hooking up. I wasn't opposed to him wooing her with his wit and intelligence, her falling a little for his geeky personality. Her falling all over herself in the first episode to get "the really hot guy" hired was ridiculous, though.

Leah Remini in King of Queens and the blond woman in According to Jim are far from believable, but they never go on and on about their husbands being hot either.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most guys on here, assumedly, are dating or married to women who are probably not going to have guys jumping out of moving cars to talk to them. But I'll bet their husbands find them beautiful.

I've dated guys who probably wouldn't draw second looks from some women. But they were hot to me.
