Jim Hoehn

My journalism career includes full-time writing newspapers, magazines, wire services and online. I spent most of my career in Wisconsin, covering the Brewers, Packers, Bucks, Badgers and Marquette, as well preps and feature stories. News coverage included everything from murder trials to plane crashes, as well as desk work.

After taking a buyout from the newspaper industry, I was fortunate to land a college position in the Seattle area. Since relocating in mid-May, I have been fortunate to continue freelance writing for a wide range of outlets.

As an offshoot of my journalism writing, as a songwriter I've opened for the likes of Warren Zevon, Jerry Jeff Walker, Roger McGuinn, Robert Earl Keen, Don Williams and dozens of others, including a couple memorable nights with Kinky Friedman.
