Don't know anything about that. Car loans are in my past.
But as someone who was ALMOST taken by some hidden junk in a loan many years ago, there is a pretty simple way to explain it to the guy handling the financial papers:
"Look, $XX,XXX is the price plus tax, tag and delivery. This loan amount says $XX,XXX+$Y,YYY. Make the "total amount financed" say $XX,XXX or there is no deal."
Those three sentences saved me $4,000 back in 1988.
