This woman must've figured the jig was up and the videos were going to come to light regardless. Either that or she's really, really dumb. Whichever, it proves once again that the quick money you make as a youngster won't be much of a comfort once the past comes back to haunt you.

NEW YORK (AP) — The PBS Kids Sprout network has fired the host of The Good Night Show after learning she had appeared in videos called Technical Virgin.

The host, Melanie Martinez, had alerted network officials about one of the videos late last week and she was immediately taken off the air.

“PBS Kids Sprout has determined that the dialogue in this video is inappropriate for her role as a preschool program host and may undermine her character's credibility with our audience,” said Sandy Wax, network president.

For three hours each evening, The Good Night Show airs soothing stories and cartoons designed to get an audience of two-to-five-year-olds ready for bed. Each night, Martinez guides a puppet character into dreamland. Martinez is a stage actress and mother of a toddler.

In the two Technical Virgin videos — made before she landed the children's show job — she spoofs PSAs about how young women can keep their virginity.

PBS Kids Sprout airs children's programming 24 hours a day and is seen in about 20 million of the 110 million television homes in the U.S. The Good Night Show has been temporarily replaced by cartoons while a search is conducted for a new host.

'Undermine her credibility with our audience'? That's a crock. What are the chances the 3- to 5-year-olds are going to see these spoofs.
What they should have said is: We're afraid her previous work will offend the parents of our audience.
At least be honest.

And why are parents using TV to get their kids ready for bed?

The Good Night Show starts at 6 p.m. ET and runs for three hours. Yes, my son watches part of it.

Had noticed she wasn't on anymore. I thought she seemed the type that would go beyond kiddie shows.

Are you a parent? If not, STFU.

If so, mind your own business and STFU

:)

If you missed the site before it was shut down, it was a terrific satire of the "abstinence" movement that advocated anal, oral, manual or vibratory options to traditional vaginal intercourse. The best part was the guestbook and all the people flipping out who took it as a real movement.
