Description
The Athabasca Advocate, an award-winning weekly paper based just over an hour north of Edmonton, needs a sports junkie.
Heck, we dedicate almost one-third of every issue to local sports coverage — if you've got the sportswriting itch, we're the place to scratch it.

Maybe you're fresh out of J-school and eager to start your career. Maybe you're an experienced news guy or news gal who secretly desires to be a sports guy or sportsgal. Either way, if writing sports is your bag, we need to talk.

So what's in it for you? Salary and benefits that pash muster; a fun, friendly office with lots of cool people in it; and real opportunities for promotion, ashuming you're as good as you think you are.

I wonder if getting a work permit would be a problem for an American? Edmonton is a decent enough city though, and plenty of sports to cover in the area besides hockey.

Is "ice road trucking" a sport?

It's right behind seal clubbing and that weird native high-kicking competition.

This job sounds great ... ashuming it's as good as I think it is.
