OK, how do you NOT realize your leg has been cut off? Drop your keys, yeah. An entire limb? No.
 
You'd think it would have been hard to balance the bike with only one leg. Plus, I'm with Flash, how the hell do you not notice your leg fell off?
 
When I lose a leg while on a bike ride, I ALWAYS notice.

Pedaling uphill is incredibly hard with just one foot.

That is so wrong, I actually did laugh out loud. People are looking at me.

Actually, I've heard of it before. Heather Mills, Paul McCarthy's soon-to-be ex, has said when she lost her leg she didn't notice it until they were putting her in the ambulance. Only then did she see her leg still on the ground.
