How different is INdesign as opposed to QuarkXPress?

I suppose specific newspapers are out, but what about chains? Isn't it likely that all McClatchy use the same?

It seems that there are a ton of papers making the switch to InDesign from Quark, so the real question is, how is quark dealing with this? Will it survive?

I thought they had stopped making new versions of Quark.

god i miss this guy.

No. All Lee isn't the same, all Media General isn't the same, etc.

We've been promised the switch to INDesign for about three years now. Still stuck with friggin' Quark.

I know a lot of the bigger shops (i.e. DMN, Star-Telegram) use CCI.

I recently switch from Quark to InDesign. I like the new program for the most part, but I have one huge question. How do you cut off stories? In Quark, you could just hit shift, option, apple and then hit a direction key to highlight the rest of the story. That feature doesn't work on InDesign. It makes you create an overflow box and then delete from there. Is there any shortcut to fix this problem?
