Help FarmerJ and Dr. J cross the border thread....

I don't mean to be an ass, but if you don't have the cash to cross the border, maybe you should skip the outing.

Man, I love that forking record.

Sorry, FarmerJ ... no can do. Part of being a parent is allowing you to learn some tough life lessons.

This is one of them.

Sorry you can't go to Toronto.

This may be the ultimate indignity in life: Having to borrow money from your parents in order to meet JR. :(

Sorry to hear about this, FJ. If you were where I am, you could cough up your car title for extra cash. Of course, the interest rate would probably make mere hucksters blush.

Couldn't you go to your bank and get a loan? You do say it would be paid back in a day or two. Not that much interest would accrue by then.

Or, you could just tell your parents that you had planned this vacation for a long, long time and an unexpected expense sucked your account dry.

I tried. I even told them I'd make a lot of good connections up North. It's killing me that I have the money. I can even show them the paper that says, FarmerJ is owed this much.

The money people are telling me that I will probably have the money in two-three weeks, hopefully before that. I just don't want to take a chance.

And HC, I think your idea was the best so far.

Turning the guilt back on them like Superman deflecting a laser with a big mirror. Works every time. ;)
