Not that I disagree with Whitlock being on the show ... but Posnanski once wrote that Oprah was reluctant to have Buck O'Neil on her show because he was a "sports figure."

A loss for Oprah and her viewers, for sure.

If you think the majority of Oprah's viewers knew of Buck O'Neil or his HOF plight ... you're smokin' some good stuff.

Jason will make an excellent guest on Oprah. He's cogent, provocative (maybe overly so on occasion, has points to make, and can be funny. I agree with maybe one of every six points he makes, but if I were a TV talk show prodcuer, his name would be on my call-first list.

most people on this board know what i think about whitlock, but, with that said, the man would be pure genius if the two of you were sitting alone in a room.
