And here's what's really sad --- hoops has been waiting all day for that chance. :D

actually, didn't notice it until i saw the countdown on the johan santana thread

Here they are, Hoops, the keys to the 1968 Buick Skylark. If you can find the car (I'd start looking at the bottom of the rock quarry near Clanton, Alabama, but that's just me) you are certainly welcome to drive it away. The presumably silt-covered title is in the glove box.

Hoops McCann: He was Bob Watson after Bob Watson was Bob Watson.

(Bob Watson scored the 1,000,000th run in big league history, I think)

You sure it wasn't a Pontiac Tempest?

Yes. It did not have positraction. And no, my biological clock is not (thump thump thump) ticking, thank you very much.

Well done. Was hoping you'd get the reference. :D

That's probably about 20 books' worth of writing, a fact that pulls off the difficult trick of being both sad and impressive at the same time.

So would that be "impressively sad" or "sadly impressive"?

And wasn't that roughly Andrew Podnieks' output during the NHL lockout?
