    Sports writer, Fort Smith (Ark.)

This seems like a pretty solid gig. Kind of surprising not more info/input here about this one.

    Indianapolis Star prep reporter opening

I would have to imagine there are plenty of folks willing to pack up and move across country for a gig like this one. Myself being one of them.

    Sports Writer, Durham, N.C.

With the seasons getting ready to kick off, I'm willing to bet this one has been filled. Any word on who?

Who is the SE at this shop? I may be blind but I couldn't find the info on the website. Sounds like a good gig but not a pleasurable task of reading hundreds of applications.

Prep sports reporter, State Journal-Register, Springfield, Ill.

I wonder how may applicants they are going to receive for this gig? Sounds like a decent place to live and a notch above entry level.

    Grants Pass sports writer

Over 5 hours to Sacramento and more than two hours to Eugene? What exactly do you do from killing yourself in Grants Pass?

    Auburn beat writer

I've been out of touch with the civilized world the past week or so. Have they already filled this job considering Auburn's season starts in less than 48 hours?

Back on topic, who ever takes this job is definitely going to have to relocate quickly and then get the ball rolling in a hurry. Not the ideal situation for a SE I'm sure.

Well if anybody likes to get drunk and rant, it would be this guy. Ok maybe just the drunk part. Then again, that's what sports writers do.

Its good to hear someone is willing to hire a young gun, even if it is a young gun. If you ask me, papers get too caught up in the experience and not worry enough about the skills. If a kid can write, that should be enough. Sure, I'm a younger guy but just because someone hasn't done it before...

It always amazes me when jobs like this are posted. In advance of the short story to follow, he was probably one of the best writers I've read in my short career. I had a good friend from college who applied for a D2 job in nebraska while back, and they turned him down because they wanted...

I applied as soon as I saw this one posted. But like most others, I don't have that required major college experience. It's interesting how papers won't hire you because they always want that experience covering major college, but no paper is willing to offer a college gig to someone without...

What are the specs of the paper? Circulation? Good Company to work for? Worth Moving to Alabama?
