College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

This proves what I've always said: I'll watch any sporting event as long as it's competitive. These are two equally awful, equally irrelevant football teams.

College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

    Michigan's D is nonexistent.

College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

I'm left to wonder: Would the officials have made the same call if it was a game-winning (not spread-covering) TD?

College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

Remember when Michigan and ND played games this close ... and they meant something?

College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

Well, that penalty against Michigan was phantom. Wow.

College football Week 2: There's so much we can do

Musberger can't handle the Irish, for Pete's sake. He just "misidentified" the running back on the Irish's first drive. Then, he called the scoring drive "the first drive of the game." Uh, Brent, Michigan had the ball first.

    What Does This Mean?!

I didn't think that was a wise question to ask.

    What Does This Mean?!

I asked. They don't provide for that. I've found it's about 50 per cent of companies/papers pay for the move. This one didn't. No biggie.

    This made me laugh. Awesome.

    What Does This Mean?!

I got the job. I'm very happy and excited. This is a terrific career move and it pays $10K more than I make now (yes, I did eventually negotiation for a few thousand more). As always, thanks for the advice, encouragement and anecdotes.

    What Does This Mean?!

There are a lot of things more important than money in this case: The job (more suited to me and my skills). My current job (which I dislike and see no future/progress in). The area of the country in which the prospective job is located. Proximity to family. Money's about the fifth-important...

    What Does This Mean?!

My biggest problem with all this is wondering whether I'm "the guy" ... the person they're going to hire. It just seems so strange to ask that question or for him/them to have that conversation Friday and them be thinking I'm NOT their first choice.

    What Does This Mean?!

I like this. And I'll remember it.

    What Does This Mean?!

I filled it out on the online application. And then, when asked over the phone Friday, I simply said "what I'm making now is fine. So what are you offering?" He gave me a number, I said, "Sounds good. It's actually a little more than I'm making now. I'm fine with that offer."

    What Does This Mean?!

This makes me feel better. And makes some sense because the corporation's HR department is in another city and has been part of the process from the beginning.
