Well, that should put that Carrollton(Times-Georgian) negativity to rest!! No more "inside information" needed(which by the way usually comes from people who 'think' they know). Sounds like the two past sports editors have concurred on the freedom they are/were given from the ME to run the...

Boots must have been talking to one of the disgruntled "throwaways". Things haven't changed that much from what Rico states. Same occasional random interference but for the most part the sports department runs itself. Only difference is that deadlines are tight at times on the orders of the...

That particular one was filled. Another came up due to a personal move but Athens doesn't have to post for jobs;they know who is in the pool and scoop them up.

I think some editors question why an experienced journalist would want to...

Internet Sports Editor -- Long Island, N.Y.

That's why I said,"I'm not saying this is a great job". I realize that this particular position won't be a resume "wow!" and to go even further, probably an "eye roll". I was commenting more to the remark about the pay in general for living on LI. My point was that sometimes one has to fill in...

I'm not saying this is a great job but to your comment.........sometimes a part-time job is the answer so one can gain experience

One more observation: Carrollton is spelled with two L's. Even small papers want someone who can spell correctly;especially their name and from copy to boot! Is every paper the best to work at?...no ,but something as simple as misspelling from copy is an example of the caliber of candidates...

New to posting;but read frequently. Does anyone know where this position is at in the process? Anyone called for interviews yet? What's the pay? When do they expect it to be filled? Thanks!
