His biggest sin was not speaking up and/or resigning when, in 1966, he decided the war was unwinnable. He was too much of an organization man to take that step. But it might have saved thousands of lives.
Calling someone an asshole is not libelous/slanderous, though if this were real journalism you might want some evidence.
But saying he will end up in jail is at least arguably slanderous. That's not an opinion. You're labeling him a criminal. That goes way beyond any assessment of personality.
Having edited many a legally tricky story, and having had many a piece altered by careful lawyers, I can say definitively:
--If Tommy has no hard evidence of the sex tape, this is libelous.
--Corey Dillon may have a case for slander.
Of course, to win you have to go through the discovery...
Maybe more than any other position, it will help a closer if he gets a ring...and help even more if he gets a final Series out. You can throw all the numbers out there for Wagner that you want, but a lockdown performance for the Mets this October might tip the scales in his favor. On the flip...
Going forward, copy editing will be the first casualty. Between tight budgets and the need for speed, you'll see more and more errors like this cropping up. Publishers also will make the calculation that such mistakes will not be deal-breakers for readers.
When Liev Schreiber filled in for Petersen a couple of seasons back, the show got a very nice creative jolt. I realize that this was for a limited arc, but it demonstrated that Grissom was replaceable.

QTLAW and ZAGOSHE have nailed the most heinous offenses.
Another problem is when folks have an unrealistic expectation of how far they can hit. When there's a group 275 yards ahead of you and you've never in your life struck a shot longer than 225, for heaven's sake, go ahead and hit.

Gotta have the "Ball of Oil" and "Little-Uh Jerry/cockfight" episodes.
I'd bump the Limo and Puffy Shirt episodes to accommodate. (Not that there's anything wrong with them!)
Re Webb: I understand the baggage he carries re his views on women and the military...but he brings some items to the table that could help Obama. First of all, a woman might still have to ponder: Will McCain and the Republicans be any better on women's issues? Dubious at best. Moreover and...
If there were a Champions Tour category, we could add Judi Dench, Helen Mirren and Patrick Stewart. The latter may win the Best Actor Tony for Macbeth, which shows his extraordinary range. In this vein, I assign extra credit for big stars who are willing go without a net and expose themselves on...
These date me, but here goes:
Under the Boardwalk, The Drifters
All Summer Long, the Beach Boys
See You in September, The Happenings
It Might As Well Rain Until September, Carole King
Re the Sox part of this question: I don't think the variation in the team's quality during Yaz's and Manny's respective tenures is significant. The offenses generally were good to excellent. (The annual finish usually hinged on whether the pitching held up.) Manny usually had a better...
