I know a copy editor who started there a few years ago got $34K. And she was only a few years out of college. Maybe $35K is on the high end, but not ridiculously so.

The job description sounds like typical Gannett "Information Center" crap -- stuff they have to put in the ad but don't necessarily expect in every applicant. What percentage of preps writers, or human beings for that matter, have ALL those skills? I bet you'll get considered if you can write...
