    Happy birthday, CDs!

I remember my father bringing home a CD player for the first time. We didn't have any CDs so we walked across the street to the store and each got to pick one out. I picked Queen's Live at Wembley, which I still have. I don't have an MP3 player or iPod or anything, so we still listen to CDs. My...

He was pretty funny in his one appearance on The Office too, as the party boat captain.

    Last movie you watched......

Took my 5-year-old to see the new Madagascar. I slept through much of it, both from being tired and because Madagascar has never really done it for me. But, there were a few funny parts and my kid seemed to like it, which is all I really cared about. Also, not a movie, but watched Season 1 of...

    Last movie you watched......

Finally got around to watching The King's Speech. I assumed I would be bored out of my mind, but actually wasn't. Thought it was a good story which I didn't really know much about, very strong acting, paced well. Now and then I find myself surprised I liked something, and this was one of those...

    Anxiety medication?

My wife has general anxiety disorder and takes medication for it. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not (sometimes she's so overwhelmed that nothing helps). It's a very, very hard thing to deal with, even with medication. Completely exhausting. You probably know all this. She's tried many things to...

    Hatfields and McCoys (History Channel)

Was really looking forward to it, got my son in bed early so I could be sure to watch from the beginning, and then fell asleep about a half hour into it. I wasn't bored, just ridiculously tired. Will pick it up On Demand or on a repeat.

    Your ideal place to live

I lived in Bellingham, Washington and would love to live there again. Big enough that it has everything you need, small enough that it's not overwhelming and can get where you need to go in 10 minutes. Love the change of seasons, love the attitude of the city, close to Vancouver and Seattle...

    CBSSports.com discontinues College RapidReports

It was my secondary income, but was nice to get that check every week. Not to mention a good group of people to work for, as evidenced by them calling us to tell us personally. Disappointing news.

    Last movie you watched......

Went to Avengers last night and enjoyed it. It gave me what I expected it to give me, and kept me entertained. I've found that I'm barely able to make it through even half a movie without falling asleep lately, even in a theater, but I did stay awake for this one. And the scene at the end of all...

    Last movie you watched......

Took my son to see that Pirates animated movie. It was pretty damn funny, plenty for adults to like and enough site gags to keep my 5-year-old interested. Ardman does good work.

    Last movie you watched......

The new Sherlock Holmes last night. Downey is one of the more entertaining actors working lately, and I actually liked it better than I thought I would, because I didn't like the first one all that much. The back and forth between Holmes and Moriarty is good. Pretty much a modern action movie...

    Last movie you watched......

Cedar Rapids, with Ed Helms as an insurance agent at a convention. Also has John C. Reilly, Anne Heche, Sigourney Weaver and Isiah Whitlock from The Wire, who has two outstanding Wire references. Pretty funny, I always like Reilly. Kind of a different role than we've seen Helms in, I thought.
