Former Cubs are never worth that much.

I'm kind of shocked by this. I thought for sure Zito would have gone to the Yankees or Mets.

At that price, I'm glad the Mets didn't do the deal.
More fucking stupid money being thrown around and shithead Bor-ass wins again.
And the Giants are still an old, mediocre to bad team that will not make the post-season.

So, were the Giants that mystical, mystery team? Or, did they recently hop in?

Agreed, which seems to be rare for you and I when it comes to baseball. Though the Mets should have acquired some help for the rotation and the free agent pool seems to be just about dried up.

The under/over on 20 win seasons during this contract is 2 1/2.
    Go with the under

    BWHAHAHAHAHAHA the Mets lose again.

Though Zito is not worth anywhere near $126 mil.

Smart man, though, getting out of the AL as his numbers decrease.

What would a legitimate stud, a Santana or a Halladay or someone, have gone for this summer.

Zito's a good pitcher, but that good?

Makes the Twins and Jays look pretty smart.

Santana will still hit free agency after his age 29 season in 2008, though. Ka-ching.

That's a wierd edit...not one I agree with either. The Mets took the NLCS to Game 7 against the eventual World Series champs with pretty much the rotation they'll open this season with, so it's not impossible for them to contend again with what they have.

I just thought they should have gotten some help.
