Buehrle might not get a post season start

    Price-Stroman-Dickey-Estrada?

It's unreal how, other than Price, their starters don't strike anyone out in this era. Buehrle 88 strikeouts in 191 innings. Dickey 123 strikeouts in 200-plus.

I think so, I would love to see Buehrle but I'm not sure at whose expense.

He's definitely first ballot Hall of Hair, though.

    The resume now:
    16 seasons
    W-L: 205-123
    ERA: 3.35
    IP: 2,872
    SO: 2,622
    ERA+: 125
    All-Star Games: 6
Cy Young Awards: 1 (+2 top 5 finishes)
    CG: 16
    SHO: 5
    20 Wins: 0

The HOF case would also include that he's one of the best-fielding pitchers of his generation (7 Gold Gloves), as well as an excellent hitter (for a pitcher... one Silver Slugger, could make a case for a second SS this year).

A few more outs 10 or so days ago would have helped his case, IMO...

If he retired now? No. But he just won 18 games so I gotta imagine if he gets to 240 wins and to 3,000 Ks in the next 3 seasons, and I think that gets him over the hump. His postseason (3-6 with a 4.21 ERA) doesn't help his case, though.

The only pitchers with more than 3,000 Ks who aren't in Cooperstown right now are Clemens, Schilling, Sabathia and Verlander. And all of them figure to make it eventually.

Will it hurt his chances that he's a bit of a dick?

He's not a dick. He's definitely on the autism spectrum — highly functioning, but on it.

You ask him a question, he's going to tell you exactly what he thinks, no spin, no bullshit.
