    Knowing the Toxic Twins who own that paper, I wouldn't be surprised if they scolded the editor or whomever runs that Facebook account for even putting in a friend request to me.

    Pardon my ignorance, but why would a former employer care if you qualified for unemployment benefits or not? Does it cost them something?

    Yes. If a former employee earns unemployment benefits, the employer has to pay additional taxes. If a former employee is ineligible for unemployment benefits, the company that separated the employee does not have to pay the taxes.
