    On the local news today they had a groundhog in the studio and said he saw his shadow. This was about an hour before sunrise. I don't think indoor lighting counts in this highly technical exercise.

    We really haven't had much of a winter to speak of, other than one real sharp blast before Christmas that got us down to 12° a couple of nights with a dusting of snow.

    We may have seen our last freeze if we don't get a front in the next three weeks, because Feb. 20 or so is when it starts to warm up for good and pear trees start to bud.
