That's because the Clarence Carter song of the day was "Strokin' ", good luck getting that played, never mind it's a totally different song, and radio idiocracy spans generations.

 

"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" would establish things.

 

I'd go with something that perhaps many people haven't heard, but would get their attention.
"Swamp Thing," Chameleons UK. One of the greatest guitar intros ever.
