Do you preach against DJ Pettway and his decision-making? If Winston stayed home and played for Bama, I'm sure you would railing against him.

Why would he risk leaving Publix with a couple of pounds of crab legs without paying?

He ain't got a lick of sense.

I saw it on The Daily Beast. Does that count?

Kid has proven time and again he is stupid, but he can't be THAT stupid. I don't think. Given Winston's competitive nature, I find it hard to believe he would jeopardize a 24-game winning streak and a potential back-to-back national title to make a few bucks for him and his friends. This would be stunning.

You can't "shave points" when the line is +1. That's called throwing the game. Or, in this case, throwing the half. If the quarterback at a football powerhouse is going to shave points, he isn't going to do it at +1 when he has a long line of double-digit spreads to pick from that won't require him taking (or, in this case, seriously risking) a loss. Winston's dumb, but nobody is that dumb. As mentioned earlier, the far more likely scenario (if there even is a scenario) is Winston mentioning a key injury or suspension that nobody else knows about to his buddy, likely unwittingly.

Based on what's been reported, the bet was made for the Seminoles to be trailing at the half.

Kind of hard for Winston to make the defense give up 21 points though. That's where this seems to fall apart.

He's an asshole. He's a really dumb asshole. But even assuming those facts in evidence, this thing has no substance. Far easier to suppose his equally dumb friend heard Winston complain about how the team had had so many slow starts and he didn't know what to do about it, and then said friend went out and put a bet down.

He threw 3 INTs in the 1st half.

He thinks (knows?) he can get away with anything and/or doesn't give a shit, so it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch he might try something like that.
