Hold up wait a minute, got to alter my list.
Tom Hanks is tops followed by Denzel, and Will Smith. DiCaprio and Russell Crowe are my immediate reserves.

Finally someone else puts Denzel down.

I can't say I've hated any Denzel movie I've ever watched.

    Guy is a brillant actor.

Here is what I posted a year ago, and not much of this has changed. If I had to pick three, I'm going with Hoffman, Bale and Norton.

Oh, Tebow! I forgot about Norton.

Alright, my list is as follows:

    1. Denzel
    2. Norton
    3. Crowe

  7. RossLT

    Downey, Jr.
    DiCaprio
    Denzel Washington

    With Matt Damon just outside.

Any guy who could go from playing Truman Capote to a movie that opens with him getting it on with Marisa Tomei, and you buy him in both roles, is some kind of actor. Nice work Hoffman.
Love Denzel - brilliant in Malcom X - but I think he's like Tom Hanks. People like the guy, so they go see the movie.

Hoffman is the best actor working, but how many movies is he going to star in? He's a character actor, and a brilliant one...

I love Denzel, I just hope he stops doing the Al Pacino overacting thing.

Daniel Day Lewis is tremendous, every seven years or so when he decides to work.

Hanks is in a slump, at least by his lofty standards.

Norton is tremendous, but he's on the verge of becoming Val Kilmer, a great actor who is such a douche, nobody will work with him.

Sean Penn is amazing as always.

What he said. In that exact order. And not that he's the best actor out there (his body of work doesn't support it), but Clive Owen owns every piece of footage he's in...I think about his performance in "Closer" and he was just a live wire in every scene. Made Julia Roberts look like a quivering horse. I realize that was mean.
