I had a post on this on the Random Thoughts thread, and I thought it would be interesting to have it as a thread, to see how different people of varying tenure would answer this question. I'm thinking stuff posted on the board, as opposed to PMs. To recap, here were mine (adding one from my original since the cindybj thread sadly died off), not in any particular order:
    --Stephanie/Superbat 3000.
    --The Holiday Inn Antarctica thread.
    --Anti-Shoutouts!
--The secret powers of Sometimes When We Touch.
--A certain exchange about Rousseau's Social Contract.
--The time 21 and I made some newbie think Boom was a she and 21 was a he.
--A collection of times people tried to attack Clubber, seeing it develop and knowing the attacker would be ripped to shreds.
--How the thread meant to congratulate mizzougrad for Member of the Year turned into one of the board's great donnybrooks.
--The first April Fool's Day name changing.
--Hockeybeat's "Stop the Post-Padding People" thread. At the time, H_Beat was the No. 1 poster by a mile. J_D, making light of the missing comma, thought it was about fighting off a zombie race.

Somewhere in my Top 10 is Fenian's photo and caption of Noah Webster in the Scoop Jackson thread. I couldn't even look at that pic for like a week without laughing.

    Superbat was fucking hysterical.

    Frozen lemons.

    The original SportsJournalists.com outing.

    One-on-one with Clubber Slang.

Cutting Clubber outside the US Capitol. Yeah, I did it.

Jones' dead neighbor and the masterbating sink.

    Writing damn good briefs.

    The original April Fools.

    Seinfeld vs. The Simpsons

    What is love?

I was nice and stayed away from the lemons, but that was damn funny, too.

    • the day COCKDIAN and CHARMION become buzzwords for life
    • the day I got pissed at Moddy, and he at me, and then I went to the gym to work out the symptons of waking up on the wrong side of the bed then PM'ing him to apologize and him saying he could use a good workout, too
    • laughing incessantly for days at the Charlie Brown thread
    • hiring the first of what I hope are many go-getter worker bees for an internship (ready for some fun, MayFly?)
    • buckweaver's true baseball geekery
    • being told recently by a SportsJournalists.com female that her friend said I would make a good psychologist
    • Idaho's kick in the pants to get back on the bike
    • 5-7-5 before it went to hell
    • the time I tried posting a response only to have it take 18 times to hit post again because posters kept posting their posts before me
    • the day I signed up to the best www on the I-superhighway

    10. The first appearance of pho-real, and the hilarity that followed.
    9. The first appearance of COCKDIAN, and the hilarity that followed (specifically, do a search for a thread called "Fantasy Football." You won't be disappointed).
    8. Getting to know carrie on the board, and picking her brain on design concepts. I can't thank her enough.
    7. Bubbler's running SportsJournalists.com Hoosiers diary.
    6. SportsJournalists.com teaming up to punk JDV over and over and over.
    5. Posting some old stories on the Writer's Workshop and NOT having people rip them to threads and tell me how much I suck. Thanks, jonesy, Double Down, jgmacg, et al.
    4. The early stages of the late-night thread. Damn, those were a fun two months.
    3. It's 5-7-5, dammit!
    2. Ripping a former employer, then getting a PM from sportschick. She became my first real-life SportsJournalists.com buddy.
    1. Meeting spup. Nothing else is close, really.

    In no particular order:

    Katrina and the waves

    The proliferation of R.I.P. threads

    Sometimes When We Touch

The Dr Pepper lip smackers jack

The Deadskins boys (not so much a great moment, but def. a memorable one)

    COCKDIAN, pho-real and other kiddies.

    The Prancing Billy series

The poolboy thread (yea, I'm conceited enough to put it on here)

The Billy Packer High Seed Award (I'm most conceited)

    The Candy Bar March Madness

Off the top of my head, in that order and no other:

    Katrina.

Having a conversation with myself on a thread, using two different handles.

Hearing Lugnuts laugh so hard at the avatar for one of the handles, I thought she was going to need a sedative.

Naming our bar Jeers: Where Nobody Knows Your Name.

All of the blackouts and their respective fallout shelters.

Having lunch with Webby and talking about each one of you (just kidding about the last part).

A stretch of 2-3 days in fall 2004 when I was on a roll, posting way over my head.

The wonderful people who PMd and posted during and after my mother's last days.

A poster hearing about how I lost an expensive digital recorder while it was being repaired at a shop in New Orleans around the time of Katrina, then sending me one of his after feeling guilty about laughing at my misfortune.

Talking on the phone with a poster who shall be unnamed, a poster gracious enough to just spend time keeping me company during the days when I was without power and no longer had battery power in my laptop (again, Katrina).
