I think that fact has been well established.
His rep throughout his NFL career was that he was not very smart.

But those in the know have told me that he's rather sharp and just plays up the dumb dumb stuff. Gotta figure that he must have something on the ball to rake in the money that he's made over the years.

I covered Art Skipper when he was at Oregon. I was two years ahead of him in school and shot most of the track meets for one of the local TV stations. Dude was really impressive. May have been my first sports-related professional interview.

Just Googled him - he died in a plane crash 9 years ago. Damn.

If memory serves, Bradshaw originally went to LSU, got homesick, wound up at La. Tech.

He didn't have the grades for LSU, even with academic standards what they were in those days. He has frequently said he wanted to go LSU, but in his own words, was too dumb.

He's not a genius, but he can't be that dumb. Part of the "Can't spell cat without spotting him the C and the A" stuff that stuck to him is the result of the fact that he's so self-effacing.

IMO, Bradshaw is one of those guys smart enough to know that there can be good money in playing dumb. I've played poker against a few of them.
