They could if it was Sonny vs. Craig Morton.

Key those days was to play #7 from Dook vs. Morton, or Roger Dodger against
    fluttering-duck Billy K.

And precious little love for the Sandy Koufax of the NFL, Sid Luckman.

WELL, I had Luckman and Van Brocklin both on my "HM" list a couple pages back.

Waterfield suffers somewhat because his career pretty much directly parallels Graham's, and there's the perception he and Van Brocklin "alternated" at QB for the Rams for several years.

Plus, if you count Graham, Layne, Van Brocklin, Tittle (mentioned by a couple people), we're getting to the point where almost half the starting QBs in the NFL of the early 1950s are being pushed for spots in the all-time top 10.

I suppose Arnie Herber from a decade earlier should get some props too, but my guess is that Don Hutson was the real difference-maker in that combo.

What about David Woodley (RIP) and Scott Campbell?

I have to admit, I had to look up Scott Campbell.

And I will say this about Malone, he easily makes the top 10 qbs with killer mustaches list. Tom Selleck wished he had that mustache.
