BYH voted Bannister No. 1 because he wants to be able to say the Mets traded away the AL rookie of the year.
    Fucking dickhead!

That's the thing. Right now, it's dicey. But with another five to seven starts, Matsuzaka could end up with 18-20 wins; Bannister, who I've liked since 2004, could wow some people down the stretch.

I have a serious problem with someone like Dice-K winning ROY... They need to change the wording on the award so it's given to someone who is playing his first year of professional baseball...

Braun's gonna win it running away in the NL, but Chris Young is putting up some real solid numbers aside from the average. He could be a real good one in a couple years.

    Well............yeah. :D :D :D

I think Pedroia, who has one of the highest averages for a rookie EVER, is the better candidate right now. But the Boston guys will split votes and I think Bannister has a real shot to win if he ends up in the top five in ERA. Though I don't think he can maintain that ERA with his ehh K/BB ratio.

None of these guys are playing their first year of professional baseball.

Even Huston Street was too experienced to win under those guidelines.

Bannister would join the other Kansas City rookie greats: Angel Berroa, 2003; Carlos Beltran, 1999; Bob Hamelin, 1994; and Lou Piniella, 1969.
