Well, it was being played in my head.

Mine was 2003, but we didn't have an official song. The last one of the night was "The Dance" by Garth Brooks, though.

I pictured you as the guy that would be rocking out with his date up by the stage, singing along to the music.

    Homecoming: Glory Days, Bruce Springsteen

Prom: Oh, What a Night, Frankie Valli

    The year was 1998.

I am not sure how I feel about the Frankie Valli thing. On the one hand, that is horrible. On the other hand, it's kind of cool in a retro, kitschy way for 1998. I'll give your class some credit. Not an ordinary one, I am betting.

I think my high school administration was so afraid of having something grunge-esque or whatever (grew up in the Seattle area), that they went the complete opposite way.

The 1997 class had Bust a Move by Young MC for Homecoming.

'97 Class -- nice. Your class -- not so good.

And just for the record, the song is December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night) by the Four Seasons of which Mr. Valli was a member. Not that I would know that without looking it up, of course.

I have no idea, didn't go. It was 1992, so I can only assume it was Nirvana and all the guys were unshaven, unwashed and wearing Chuck Taylors with their flannel tuxes.

Some great stuff on this thread.

Ours was 'I'll Be There For You' by Bon Jovi back in '89.

I still hear it pretty regularly on the 80s station on XM, and sometimes when it's on I'll call my old high-school girlfriend and tell her it's on, for laughs.
