Both of those posts made me laugh.

As much as I would love that, the Mets are way too dysfunctional to make it that far, and the White Sox have no shot to advance in the playoffs if they don't figure out a way to start hitting in the clutch.

    Both very fair points.

Who would have thought they'd be in the World Series two years ago either, let alone win it?

Cardinals are currently the NL Wildcard in spite of everything that has happened so far. And if they make the playoffs, they'd be facing teams that haven't exactly distinguished themselves in big spots.

    Don't tease me.

Anyway, the Cubs will win the NL. The Brewers will contend, and the Cardinals will fade as the baseball gods confiscate Dave Duncan's pixie dust.

The NL west winner automatically concedes, citing it shouldn't be allowed into the playoffs with a losing record.

Cubs beat the Phillies in six, chasing Jamie Moyer with an 8-run first.

In the AL, the Angels become dynamos after trading for Matt Holliday. They beat Boston in the ALCS in five.

Cubs win in seven. Chicago burns to the ground.

The Phillies aren't going to win the World Series with one good pitcher.

I can see that NLCS being 2-1 or 3-2 games when it's Z and Hamels on the mound, and 10-9 every other game (assuming Harden's arm falls off).
