Major college women's volleyball team had a "media participation day" to kick off their fall practices. I'd been playing at the beach all summer so I accepted the invitation to join the workout, as did a guy from a local TV station, who brought a camera crew.
On a two-on-two drill, I received the serve, passed to the setter, who tried to set me. But she set it over the net, where one of the opponents was waiting to drill it down my throat. I went up and got a clean stuff block on her. I thought, "that was cool."
That night, I'm at the pub, the baseball game on TV ends and is followed by the news. It's the same station that sent the guy to the media day. A couple of minutes later, all my friends start hooting. My perfect stuff block was shown on TV.
