Three_Bags hated TQ&D because she doesn't get naked.

It was an exceptionally dumb Western, even with Gene Hackman in it.

I'm a big fan of Big Jake, by no means the best movie referenced here.

The basic plot, and its not-to-be-disclosed-by-me twist, would do well with a contemporary update.

    Big Jake shoutouts include:

Escape from New York: "I thought you were dead," a direct cribbing.

Road House: "I thought you'd be bigger."

    Sirs, Madames,

Searchers, Wild Bunch, High Noon, others mentioned here. All great.

One that I always loved to look at: High Plains Drifter.

Unforgiven has a bonus, Squint in an episode of Maverick. Somehow Squint mispronounces Maverick. Character's name: Red Hardigan.

    YD&OHS, etc

I was a broke 16-year-old when it came out. We had a 99-cent theater, and I figured I'd at least get some tit shots. I mean, c'mon! I saw Sliver.

I don't think of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as a western. I don't know why, I just don't. It seems like a buddy movie which just happens to be set in Colorado before the turn of the century. I don't think of Brokeback Mountain as a western either.

My favorite western is The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I also liked She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and Blazing Saddles. The Magnificant Seven is a great movie

Just a few. There are so many great Westerns, I'm leaving out a ton.

Saw this last night. I liked it well enough, but it's definitely slow-moving. And Rene Zellweger's bizarre facial features are becoming more and more distracting. My wife did not enjoy it.

    "Appasnooza" she renamed it.

    Yes!

I was trying to remember the name of this movie.

My grandpa owned it and I remember watching it a bunch as a wee child. I use to think it was hilarious, but then I watched it recently and it really wasn't that funny.

    Oh well.
