Every time I see a movie alert, I figure I must be abnormal. I own about 200 DVDs, and I watch them all the time.

I wouldn't bother with flipping to Bravo and watching the edited version of The Breakfast Club or Spike's “shut this guy up” Major League version.

And OF COURSE I own Red Dawn. Are you kidding me?

So I just wondered, how many DVDs do you own? Do you watch them, or are they for show?

I read a story a year or so agao about how the “average” collector had about 100, mostly TV shows that were still sealed. Me, I've watched my MASH and Seinfeld copies so much, when I do find them in reruns I'm surprised there's a laugh track for the former and ticked there aren't any “Notes About Nothing” on the latter.

Don't have a lot of movies but my most prized DVD is the WKRP set I bought off of Ebay last year.

I have bought one DVD in my life. It is a Butch Walker concert. [/hi ijag!] I have had one given to me (Forrest Gump) and never opened the package.

Probably has something to do with being able to get them for free and in a timely fashion from my library.

    I own 100 DVDs.

I feel like I'm stupid for it, really.

Do you really watch the same DVD more than a couple times?

I can count on one hand movies, and I love all the movies I have on DVD, that I have watched more than twice since I bought them.

DVD ownership.... was a pooooooor choice.

I own quite a few show DVD's, but not one movie.

Personally, I don't think movies have much replay value, at least not enough to warrant a purchase. That's why I love Netflix; check it out once, then move on to something new.

I am inheriting probably 300 dvds when I move in with Doc in a month. I can't call them my own until the wedding, but I only have around 30 dvds, so his will be nice since I have not seen a lot of them.

Plus, he has most of the movie channels available, so I will have MANY movies at my disposal while I'm job hunting.

I DO like the packaging of a purchase, the cover art

I have a very, very small collection that I 'own' but that's because when DVD's come out, they're pretty expensive IMO. So, I either rent the movie or download. Regardless, the collection is still small and I will buy movies that I want.
This is how small we're talking:
    Spider-Man
    Spider-Man II
    X-Men (1.5 edition)
    X-Men II
Sin City (weird, I have all the comics/dark novels from which the movie was based off of)
    Wayne's World
    Total Recall
    Unbreakable
    The Program
    Pearl Harbor (gift)
    First Decent
    Afterbang (Robot Food snowboard video)
From ____ with love (snowboard video)
    Wildcats (snowboard video)
    The Resistance (snowboard video)

That's it. I want more but you know they're kind of $$$, so I'll just go the netflix route and rip them to my hard drive (Shhhhhh!)

I own close to 100 DVDs and watch them all religiously. In fact, I watch so many movies they changed the cable lineup on me and I didn't even realize it for close to three weeks. TV by itself blows.

I own maybe 20-30 DVDs of movies/TV shows and double or triple that number of Springsteen concerts/TV specials/etc. on DVD.

    Austin Powers I and II
    Godfather I and II
    Casino
    Red Dawn
    Caddyshack

    Charlie Brown Christmas
Steelers commemorative Super Bowl XL and season review

    My wife's collection includes...
    Gone with the Wind

Three or four other movies I can't remember

The last one we watched? Wedding Crashers about two months ago. Before that, I watched the Super Bowl XL DVD the day it arrived. Before that, we watched Charlie Brown Christmas back in December. The Godfather DVDs are still in their wrappers. At this point, I don't know if I'll open them or not.
