A few more things I thought of:

You can usually save money using AAA.

We always manage to get "free" Disney Dining. Ask if the free dining special is available when you're you'll be there.

Luggy the best tip possible for you is to go when there is not a school break. With young kids you have the luxury now of going at off times. Take advantage of it while you can.

We took our then-3-year-old daughter to a Princess dinner at Epcot and it was worth every (overpriced) cent.

For kids your age, the Magic Kingdom train and other transportation-type "rides" are fun and good time-eaters as opposed to standing in lines for rides much shorter in duration.

Oh, and if you plan to eat in the parks, make ADRs (advanced dining reservations). One that I would suggest is a breakfast at Crystal Palace. And if you make it as early as they allow, you'll already be in the park before it even opens. We do that on every trip. You miss the rope drop presentation at the train station, but you don't have to stand in line. You'll be eating a great breakfast while everyone else waits. And the Crystal Palace breakfast is buffet-style with characters (Winnie the Pooh and Friends).

We have been I think 9 times since 2005 when we had a 4 y.o. and almost 1 y.o.; we've gone the the past two Halloweens. I second all of Stagger's recommendations.

Someone mentioned FastPass ... they are free with admission (shocked last summer to learn Six Flags charges out the a$$ for this privilege) ... The rule is you get one per hour ... so you can have more than one at a time. Peter Pan is a family favorite and you'll need a FastPass for it!

The character breakfast at Crystal Palace with the Pooh characters is a lot of fun ... I've been to it a gazillion times! ... definitely make those ADRs before you go down because the popular restaurants get booked pretty fast, especially in peak season.

As for unofficial guides ... We love the PassPorter WDW, which is updated yearly (maps, tips, places to keep notes etc.). One tip you'll see in the books ... since you're staying on Disney property, avoid the parks with "Extra Magic Hours" (open early/close late for WDW resort guests) ... the masses flock to the parks with "extra magic hours" so avoid them and go to a park without extra magic hours that day.

Disboards.com is to Disney fanatics what this place is us ... tons of threads on everything you ever wanted to know about making the most of your Disney trip ... my wife frequents that site daily reading people's "trip reports," restaurant reviews etc.
