Hearing a report on the radio or reading a story in the newspaper about a two-bit event in one of your former coverage areas and thinking, Damn, I'm so happy I didn't have to cover that.

When you guide your team to a Super Bowl XXX championship in Madden '96?

Yes. That is a great feeling.

Sex is a pretty good feeling, too, from what I remember.

For both parties? Because I've never found that to be the case. At least I don't remember. ...

My wife, a former newspaper section editor and current magazine editor, has the cover of an old newspaper hanging in her office to remind her how much she hated working at that rag. The top story? "Bus Drivers Sweat The Heat"

The fact that this is the J-board and not anything goes should have been your first clue...

Fort Lauderdale's three-story front on Tuesday, Sept. 4, was dominated by these two stories:

    1. Stripped across the top, Cold war: Our daily battle with the thermostat -- a riveting story about room temperatures at home and in the workplace. Apparently, some like it colder than others, and it's ripping us all apart.

    2. The big display story: Choose a safer mattress. Hey, you know I will from now on.

    I kid you not................Thanks, Sun-Sentinel!
