Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill., is starting its football program this fall. Here is its new stadium's turf.





Some things, you can't make up.

 

Looks awful, but it's not original. Central Arkansas put in stripes last year.

 

Wow. Purple might actually out-gaudy burgundy.

 

Both are hideous. But the purple is probably slightly easier on the eyes.

It makes Boise State look almost normal.

 

That first one makes my brain hurt. And the purple one ain't much better.

 

OMG. BTW, there is also a Lindenwood University in Missouri. Was the NAIA runnerup two years ago. Their field is boring old green.

Seriously, someone needs to step in and come up with some standards for this stuff.
