Iowa State campus paper uses "Ames for Dummies" headline for event schedule and map for Special Olympics.

Very unfortunate headline. You'd have thought someone would have caught that, although who am I to complain? My paper left an F-bomb in a subhead (a military paper, no less).

Great Odin's raven, how the fuck did that happen, alley? And did the person responsible get the ax?

Well, it was a military paper, first of all. And it was a listing of awards, deployments, promotions, etc. There was one grouping of names with no subhead, so the typist simply put "What the f- is this?" hoping the editor would read it and put the proper subhead in. The editor, assistant public affairs officer (myself) and the PAO all missed it.

    The captain was PISSED!

I thought Ames for Dummies referred to the entire Iowa State campus... ;D

It also happens to be the official campus/townguide for the athletic department. It's been significantly revised since Eustachy left, however.

I wonder if a sportswriter from Ames wrote this headline on a Monday. ;D

    In lipstick. After doing briefs.

God, you'd think I'd grow up. But no.

I wonder if Marcus Fizer has the digits of the sportswriter who wrote this headline on a Monday.
