Who decides when to use these?

    Fuck it. Amtrak wins.

    The Washington Times reports:

Based on the comments under the story, even the Washington Times' readers think this is a little too far down the slippery slope.

Where can one wear such a delightful device? Ankle, neck, balls? Passenger's choice?

It reads like an Onion story or a forwarded email that would be debunked by Snopes.

    This is one idiot, now.

This is a great idea, what could possibly go wrong?

So, I can't turn my cellphone on, but 200+ electronic monitoring devices are ok?

I guess they're lying about that whole "personal electronic devices" thing really screwing with the avionics and communications systems.

They're looking to err on the side of caution, to be sure.
