Yet another All-America/n question

The AP stylebook says only players on the AP All-America football and basketball teams should be referred to as All-Americans.

What about other sports? Specifically, softball. If a player is named to the NFCA All-America team, can I refer to her as simply an All-American or do I need the organization in front of it?

Option 1: Pam Pitcher was a second-team All-America pitcher last year with a 23-2 record and 1.67 ERA.

Option 2: Pam Pitcher was a NFCA second-team All-America pitcher last year with a 23-2 record and 1.67 ERA.

Edit: And if I should use the NFCA, do I need to continue to call it an NFCA All-American after the first reference?

I believe you're allowed to use the NFCA All-America team if there's no AP team.

    And there's no AP team.
