Yahoo Sports is looking for a graphic designer who specializes in illustrations. These illustrations will be featured across the editorial, video, social and mobile landscapes. Yahoo Sports is looking to redefine our look and feel and an innovative illustrator is essential to this transformation. He or she will be collaborating with various teams to create team and player illustrations for big tentpole sporting events, but will also be able to lend a helping hand to the team by turning around quick graphics when requested. Many of the big sports media outlets have illustrations with the same look, but we want to create a unique style and claim our own brand of sports illustrations, we’re thinking anime meets sports. As part of this job, a core DNA as a passionate sports fan will be critical.

This role reports into Yahoo Sports’ Creative Director.

    Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of experience in illustration or design
    • Skilled in character design
    • Ability to adjust to the breaking news cycle by turning around projects in a quick manner when asked to do so
    • Strong communication skills and ability to be a team player
    • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, illustration, or art
    Details:
    • Contract position, hourly wage
    • Will mainly work Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
    • Based in our Playa Vista office
