    There's a ton of smoke here, but would you run all of these sordid stories against this guy without any concrete allegations against him that he is cheating? I'm not passing judgment. I think it's a close call myself.

    For a conference that routinely conducts background checks prior to employing referees, the Big Ten failed miserably in this instance.

    And Jim Delany isn't going to talk about it, other than say that the B-10 is now instituting background checks.

    So far, this is just an indictment that was brought down, right?

    Either this ref is a smooth bullshit operator or the Big 10 is just lazy.
