I saw that "tweet" as it happened and kind of raised my eyebrows.

  2. Bob Griese thought it was pretty funny.

More undisputable proof that every thought that enters our minds isn't Twitter material. Good grief.

Next he'll be telling us that Vijay Singh fixed his laptop.

Nah, Singh is Fijian, not Indian

Would certainly explain why Singh's golf game's gone to shit...

Dan Jenkins said it was because Y.E. Yang's name reminded him of PF Chang's, where Jenkins ate the night before.

  8. I think that's a perfectly reasonable explanation.

That doesn't make what he said right ...

  10. Why not? What if the guy's name was Joe McDonald and he made the same quip? The guy's name is similar to a restaurant chain, and Jenkins tried to make a quip about it. Hell, the fact it didn't even occur to him that it was insensitive may actually weigh in the direction of not being racist than being racist.

The simple fact that Jenkins is having to explain the remark shows why it was inappropriate. Maybe he'll think twice in the future. Probably no racist intent... just another bad joke.
