WSOP Champ Jamie Gold getting sued

Defamer has been all over Jamie Gold ever since he won the WSOP. Apparently, Gold totally lied about representing the likes of James Gandolfini and Naomi Campbell. His client list, however, did include Ron Jeremy and other porn stars.

Now, Gold is being sued for half his winnings. Why? Bodog -- a sketchy entity in its own right -- agreed to pay his $10,000 buy-in if he could land some celebs to play in the tournament under the Team Bodog banner. When Gold couldn't do it, he turned to a WPT Boot Camp instructor named Crispin Leyser, who got a couple B-list celebs to sign up in exchange for half of Gold's winnings.

Now Leyser is suing Gold and the winnings have been frozen. In the lawsuit, Gold allegedly left this voicemail for Leyser a couple hours before the final table started:

"I promise you - you can keep this recording on my word - there's no possible way you're not going to get half after taxes," Leyser claims that Gold said in the telephone message. "So please just be with me. I can't imagine you're going to have a problem with it. I just don't want any stress about any money or any of that (expletive) going on today, or even after the end of the day."

I wonder if his real first name is Ari.

He was going around telling people that the Ari Gold character was based on him....which, apparently, was another lie.

The Ari Gold character is said to be based on Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel.

I've met more honest people in poker rooms than dishonest ones.

I've seen guys peel $5,000 off their bankroll to spot a regular player who's running cold with just a handshake agreement between them. The big pros stake each other constantly with nothing but verbal contracts. If Gold tries to welch on this, he'll be stuck playing 2/4 at the Fort Myers Dogtrack because none of the pros will want him at their tables.

Defamer might be the best-written blog on the net. Once Mark leaves, my guess is he's doing features for virtually any magazine he wants to.

Hahahahahahah, look at the losers he got to play for Bodog. These dorks are costing him $6 mil:

Leyser alleges he fulfilled his end of the deal -- getting "Scooby Doo" star Matthew Lillard and "Punk'd" comedian Dax Shepard to wear the brand -- but claimed Gold has refused to hand over $6 million.
