    I wrote a seven-part series on the history of high school football in our town, and they ran anywhere from 40 to 60 inches. Maybe two or three times a year I'll breach the 40-inch barrier, and get to 50 inches once a year. It's damned hard to do 60 or more for a regular newspaper feature. I think my record is right around 60.
