Yeah, but you're pretty clearly damaged.

And, considering that my buddy had to call and tell me that Papelbon came in and whiffed ARod on three straight pitches, I gotta go with my boy schizo here.

    Bad call by Fox.

Ends of contests have priority over starts of contests. That's Sports 1A.

Be curious to see what the national ratings are for these two entities next week. Methinks more people were miffed about the NASCAR race starting late than the Yanks-Sox switching channels.

I wonder if Fox is contractually obligated to air the start of the race. Also, if spots don't air, they don't get paid.

I was POed too because I didn't know what channel FX is on here.
I did catch the final out.
You figure Fox has a contractual obligation to air NASCAR in its entirety.

So the game they switched to FX ("without warning") was something they actually warned you they were going to switch to FX.

In the most literal sense of the word, BT, yeah. They warned us. About 20 minutes before they suddenly pulled the plug before Papelbon threw a pitch with two outs in the ninth.

And, yes, for the first lap of a three-hour race.

Fox was monumentally full of fail on this one.

Same thing happened when I was watching a Raiders game six or seven years ago. Janikowski's getting ready to kick a potential game-winning or game-tying kick with a few seconds left, and the network switches to the opening kickoff of a Colts game because I was in Indiana. I don't think the networks have a choice.

They were no more full of fail than CBS or Fox is when, with NFL kicker attempting winning field goal on last play of the 1 p.m. game, they switch to home team's 4 p.m. kickoff.

    Contractural obligations are contractural obligations.

The 20-minute warning is their way of saying, "get your remotes ready, find where FX is on your system, because at zero hour we are gone."

Good thing you weren't old enough (?) to remember the "Heidi" game. You would have gone postal.
