    I did buy another card, mostly for the new envelope for the old card. But I told her what I did and she laughed. So there will be the old card waiting in the new envelope on the table for her to open when she has breakfast.

    Two years ago, my dad got mom a birthday card that started, "Dear Cousin..."

    My mom never got mad, but she's also told the story eight million times in public places, usually with dad in the area. He usually mutters something like, "Well, I do love my cousins more." We're a smartass bunch.

    "Happy Birthday ... to our marriage!"
