Slap Shot 2 (it's in that category with Caddyshack 2, shouldn't bother with a sequel)

Fletch Lives (original was classic, this one was flat)

    Friday the 13th series

    Halloween series

    Nightmare on Elm Street series

The Crow. Apparently there are four of them.

Some of the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels were good. Two and Three were really good and Four was OK, but Five and Six were pretty tired.

But "New Nightmare," the seventh installment, was a post-modern mindfuck and really, surrealistically good. That flick really fucked around with your head. I watched that entire movie with a giant-ass grin on my face because I found it so entertaining and original. Too bad it tanked at the box office...and that my review in the campus paper made me look like a fool. I said to watch out for the kid who played Heather Langenkamp's son because he was going to have a brilliant career.

Alas, his latest flick is "Surf School." Whoops.

A New Nightmare kicked ass. Very meta. And the cute friend of Heather Langenkamp returned...yummy. Then again, Wes Craven is a legit director; the Nightmare series was so much better quality than the Friday the 13th crap. I hope Craven didn't have much to do with Freddy vs. Jason.

I forgot. A couple of nights ago I came across Wild Things 3. It was awful, but so bad it was hard to turn off.
I guess I just missed Wild Things 2.

I take it WT III didn't have the full Bacon?

There are indeed two Wild Things. Straight-to-DVD dreck starring nobody at all from the original.

I've seen bits and pieces of both, but the acting was so horrible and the plot such an obvious knockoff of the original that it wasn't even worth watching for laughs.

    How about "Meatballs."

The first one was a slob-comedy classic, but then they had to make three sequels to it. I actually watched "Meatballs III" on HBO once many years ago. Patrick Dempsey as Rudy, being guided by Sally Kellerman as a dead porn star who serves as his guardian angel. Yes, it's just as bad as it sounds.
